Magic night for ATP-debutant Rosenholm
Patrik Rosenholm was to have the night of his life when he entered center court taking on defending champion Gael Monfils. A strong forehand and good composure by the Swede startled Monfils and Rosenholm could get an early break and take the set 6-3.
That was the wake-up call Monfils needed. He shifted gears and served well and Rosenholm got out of balance. The frenchman won the set comfortably 6-1.
Third set was a rerun from the first. The Swede showed no respect for the better ranked Monfils. Rosenholm had 5-2 on serve and the first big upset of the tournament was a fact. Wild card Rosenholm had won over the defending champion.
-"This is the biggest thing that ever happened to me" says Rosenholm with a smile.
